Is definite answer possible? Whether S6 records with Bluetooth without root. Cannot find anywhere. The more common definite answer would be useful for many people (in terms of coming Note 5 S6+ etc and Samsung's trend to narrow to own chips only) as does any phone with lollipop and Exynos chip record with Bluetooth without root?

5

I checked the related part of Samsung Exynos 5422 chip (used by Galaxy S5 SM-G900H) and the Samsung Exynos 5433 chip (used by Galaxy Note4 SM-N910C, SM-N910H, SM-N910U etc), there is a bug in the Hardware Audio Layer, so all these phones need root to fix bluetooth recording problems. Just enable the "Change Audio Controls" option in Boldbeast Recorder to fix the problem.

I also checked the related part of Samsung Exynos 7420 chip (used by Galaxy S6  / S6 Edge), I found the bug has been fixed by Samsung, so Galaxy S6  / S6 Edge don't need root, they work well with bluetooth recording.

Galaxy Note 5 uses the same Samsung Exynos 7420 chip, most probably it doesn't have bluetooth recording problems (just guess, not checked yet).

Irrefragable answer tells for the quality of support. Thank you!

Please use Record Mode 1 to record calls as said above.
At first please uninstall all other recorders if any.

My galaxy S6 had updated. Before the update it worked fine. After it has not worked since. I tried the settings posted in recent.posts. Did not work. Please help!!

11

The settings work well for other Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge Android 6.0 users.
You said "did not work", what message displayed as a notification? Or what did you notice?

No notification.  I tried record mode 1,2,3 4. Just does not record.  Is there something else in the settings I should try? Please let me know what settings should be activated.

13

You said "I tried record mode 1,2,3 4. Just does not record".

Possible reasons are:
1. you didn't enable the "auto record calls" feature, and you didn't click the in-call button to manually start recording.
2. there is another recorder working in your phone, please uninstall all other recorders at first.

If the problem is still there, please click the "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Ask New Parameters" item in Boldbeast Recorder to send hardware log files to me, let me have a look at them and see what happened. Thanks.

GOT IT!!!   It works again.  Thx.

Boldbeast recorder was working OK on Mode 6 my Galaxy S6 purchased from Credo (Sprint) about two months ago. It stopped working a few days ago, and testing shows unreliable recording since then.
Settings, Call settings, Enable Auto Record Calls is set to Status: Enabled.
Other recorder working?: I have not loaded another. But review of all apps loaded shows 'Voice Recorder', which appears to be an un-installable system app. The only option is to 'uninstall updates' – revert to 'factory version'. I did not do this. The 'Disable' button is greyed out and does not respond. Same for the 'Force Stop' button. Icon for this 'Voice Recorder' does show under the Samsung icon, but EDIT does show a function for uninstalling.

At various tests I get no recording, a high static recording, or a very nice recording. Have tried modes 1,2,3,6,7 do far.

Device data:
G920PVPU3CPB6    Software version
G920P.02    Hardware version
Galaxy S6    Device Name
SM-g920_    Model number
6.0.1    Android version
Feb 1, 2016    Android security patch level
G920PVPU3CPB6    Baseband version
Lots more stuff, too tedious to copy.

Correction to first para, last sentence of immediately previous post:

Icon for this 'Voice Recorder' does NOT show under the Samsung icon, but EDIT does show a function for uninstalling.

17

Apologies for taking two tries to get this correction correct.

Correction to first para, last sentence of immediately previous post:
Icon for this 'Voice Recorder' does show under the Samsung icon, but EDIT does NOT show a function for uninstalling.
So I can't uninstall 'Voice Recorder'.

Galaxy S6 SM-G920P (Sprint ) Android 5.0.2, 5.1.1 and 6.0.1 all don't need root, the app records calls clearly in two sides using suggested settings.

Other users didn't meet the same problem. Please click the "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Ask New Parameters" item in Boldbeast Recorder to send hardware log files to me, let us check them and see what happened. Thanks.

where to send the log file?

Please click the "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Ask New Parameters" item in Boldbeast Recorder, you'll see it.

Sent to your gmail.

I checked your log files.

When your phone was running Android 5.0.2 / 5.1.1, yes, Record Mode 4 and 6 worked well.
After you upgraded the phone to Android 6.0.1, Record Mode 4 and 6 no longer worked, instead Record Mode 1, 5, 7 worked.

So please use settings listed in the post #7 to record calls for your Galaxy S6 SM-G920P (Sprint ) Android 6.0.1, no root needed, it works perfectly.

I have a Galaxy S6 64GB (model SM-G920I) running Android 6.0.1, and I have just installed Call Recorder for the first time. My phone has not been rooted, and I would prefer to use the app in manual mode.

The app is working well for outgoing calls, and the recorded quality is good. For incoming calls though, the red button does nothing when I press it, and nothing is recorded. I can move the button around the screen, but that is all. I’ve tried this on multiple calls and it’s the same each time. I have also restarted the phone and the app.

Is there anything I need to do to record incoming calls other than press the red button once? Or do I need to turn on Auto Record?

My settings are:
Button In Call – Enabled, Press Once, Movable
Auto Record – Disabled
Record Mode1
Suppress Bluetooth Noise – Enabled
Tune Audio Effect – Disabled
Tune Audio Route – Group3
Tune Samsung1-3 – Disabled
Record Format – WAV (Auto sample rate)

Incoming Calls:
Auto Detect Answered State – Enabled
Auto Detect Max Time – 3
Restart Recording Upon Answered – Enabled

I'd appreciate any help you could give me.

You said "for incoming calls though, the red button does nothing when I press it", it's abnormal. Other users don't have this problem. Normally both incoming and outgoing calls work well.

Can you please click the "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Ask New Parameters" item in Boldbeast Recorder to send hardware log files to me? let me have a look at them and see what happened in your phone. Thanks.

Thank you, I have just sent the log file to your gmail.
