No root needed
In some countries in some phones, the call recording feature of Android 10 is enabled. In this case no root needed, just install Boldbeast Recorder and go, both your voice and the caller's voice are loud and clear in recordings.

No root needed, but special operation needed
In some countries in some phones, the call recording feature of Android 10 is disabled but Boldbeast Recorder can bypass the limits to enable it. Please:
- Confirm you are using the latest version of Boldbeast Recorder.
- Tap "Settings - System - Accessibility" in your phone (not in Boldbeast), enable Boldbeast Call Recorder on the screen.
- Tap "Set Default Settings" in Boldbeast Recorder.
- Most phones don't need but some phones need to enable the option "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Tune Audio Effect".
Then it works at once, both your voice and the caller's voice are loud and clear in recordings, no root needed.
For example, Android 10 phones like Galaxy S20, S10, Note10 etc in many countries work great this way.

Root needed
In some countries in some phones, the call recording feature of Android 10 is disabled, and Boldbeast Recorder can't bypass the limits to enable the feature again. Your own voice is good but the caller's voice is very weak or silent in recordings. In this case all recorders don't work either for sure, you can test and confirm the fact yourself. To fix the problem root is the ONLY way to go. If you don't root the phone there will be no solution on the whole market without doubt unfortunately. If you root the phone Boldbeast Recorder can fix it perfectly.

Root or not, who decides?
Google disabled the call recording feature in Android 10 by default, but Boldbeast Recorder can bypass the limit. So if the manufacturer adds more limits in the phone to disable the call recording feature on a specific market area, the phone needs root. Otherwise root is not needed.

How to root my phone?
There are more than 10000 Android phones, the root approach is different from phone to phone. Please google "Root AAAA" to know how to root your phone, here AAAA is your phone model, for example "Root Pixel4".

After root the phone
After root the phone, please:
- Confirm you are using the latest version of Boldbeast.
- Tap the item "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Enable Rooted Options" in Boldbeast to grant root access to the app.
- Set Record Mode to "Alsa2 Mode".
Because of using the Alsa2 Mode, no need to enable the accessibility service above. No other special requirements.

(1) For most phones
Using settings above, you can get good recordings at once.

(2) Some third-party ROMs
Some third-party ROMs have bugs inside, all other recorders can't record the caller's voice even if you have rooted the phone. In this case please
- click the item "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Install CallRecordingFix Module" in the app.
- use Magisk Manager to install the CallRecordingFix module.
- reboot the phone.
- enable the "Fix Recording Issues - Start Input Stream" option in the app.
Using settings above, now you can get good recordings at once.

In theory Boldbeast Recorder can fix call recording issues for all Android 10 phones on the market, no matter what phone model you are using, no matter what country you are in. Both your voice and the caller's voice are crystal clear.

2

When you tap "Settings - System - Accessibility" to enable the Boldbeast Call Recorder accessibility service, the system will display a message "Boldbeast Recorder will observe text that you type includes personal data such as credit card numbers and passwords". Actually Boldbeast Recorder will not observe any text that you type. The app just needs the accessibility service being enabled to bypass call recording limits set by Android 10.

The accessibility service is the key to bypass the limit added by Google. You must enable it, otherwise your recordings will be totally silent.

Some users asked, "But, who knows the app is not really observing my text and stealing my data"?
(1) The app is publicly published, every Android software engineer and safe specialist can reverse engineer it and check it.
(2) Boldbeast Software Inc. is a Canada company. Canada has strict laws related to privacy. If we steal users' data, we'll be put in prison.
No, we don't hurt ourselves, we don't hurt users, we don't do bad things.

3

If you have rooted your phone, you can also use the following Alsa settings to record calls:
- Record Mode: Alsa
- File Sampling Rate: Auto
- Alsa Device: Device0
- Alsa Bits: 16 Bits
- Alsa Channels: Auto
- Alsa Sampling Rate: Auto
- Fix Recording Issues - Tune Audio Route: Group1
- Fix Recording Issues - Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Fix Recording Issues - Start Input Stream: Yes (some phones), No (some phones), Invisible (some phones)

Because of using the Alsa Record Mode,
- No need to enable the accessibility service above.
- Need to disable OK Google, otherwise the Alsa record engine fails to record calls because of conflicts. See [001] in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_r … oting.html to know how to disable OK Google.

Android 9 Pie call recording: Android 9 Pie call recording

So does this now work as I will update to Android 10 on my P30 Pro if it does?

Can anyone confirm it's fully working.

Here are some feedback from users:

1) By using settings said in the post #1 "No root needed, but special operation needed" section above,
- A USA T-Mobile user told me, Galaxy S10 SM-G975U Android 10 works great, no root needed.
- A Canada Telus user told me, Galaxy S10 SM-G975W Android 10 works great, no root needed.
- A Russia Megafon user told me, Galaxy S10 SM-G975F Android 10 works great, no root needed.
- A South East Europe user told me, Galaxy S10 SM-G973F Android 10 can only record his own voice, the caller's voice is weak in recordings. In this case root is needed to completely fix it.

2) If they don't use settings said above, recordings are totally silent.

So Galaxy S10 Android 10 works great in some countries (for example USA, Canada, Russia etc), no root needed. But works bad in other countries (for example South East Europe), in this case root is needed. Most Android 10 phones are in the same situation - a specific phone works good in some countries but bad in other countries. Manufacturers usually enable or disable the call recording feature by market areas intentionally.

We have no feedback from users about Huawei P30 Pro Android 10 so far.

How about contact names in Android 10? Are they visible or we get "Unknown" for all calls?

Please install Boldbeast Recorder from https://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder.html directly to overwrite the version in your phone, at once the phone number and contact name will be saved and displayed.
Why? Please see [007] in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_r … oting.html to know the reason.
Don't uninstall the app then reinstall it. Instead please install and overwrite it directly, so that all your settings and recordings will remain unchanged.

11

These provided settings won't work in my Note 9 Exynos.
I have already done:

- enabled root settings
- tested Record mode 12, 1, 13, 14, Alsa
- Tune audio route Group 1, 2, 3

With root enabled settings (thus fix via magisk installed) the app will not record anything. The call is ongoing, none is being recorded.
When I disable root settings, the app records but any recording is completely silent - the files are being made but silent.
I use rooted N9, Android Q from 21.01.2020, The Boldbeast recorder is 12.9.

12

Please:

- Open Boldbeast Recorder, tap the item "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Install CallRecordingFix Module", it will display the folder name in which the CallRecordingFix module is saved.
- Open Magisk Manager, tap the top-left icon, tap Modules, tap the bottom-center "+" icon to install the CallRecordingFix module.
- Power off then power on the phone.

- In Boldbeast Recorder tap "Call Settings - Manually Record Calls - Hotkey" to open the Accessibility settings screen, enable Boldbeast Call Recorder accessibility service on the screen.
- In Boldbeast Recorder use Record Mode 12 to record calls.

Now your Galaxy Note9 Android 10 should work well.

13

This eventually worked for me today (Galaxy note 9) using Android 10

OK I tried a lot of what was said on here and it did not work.

But I did get it to work once I downloaded or should I say overwritten the software from the link provided by Boldbeast post 10

here is the text if you are too lazy to go to post ;-)

Please install Boldbeast Recorder from https://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder.html directly to overwrite the version in your phone, at once the phone number and contact name will be saved and displayed.
Why? Please see [007] in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_r … oting.html to know the reason.
Don't uninstall the app then reinstall it. Instead please install and overwrite it directly, so that all your settings and recordings will remain unchanged.

I also then went into Boldbeast settings and clicked on 'Set Default Settings.
then clicked Set all settings to default.
This changes the record mode and a few other things.
For me the record default mode changed to 12 (I had been using number 1 record mode as advised on here) and even tried record mode 4 & 5 respectively.
they all produced recordings but no sound was recorded (In record mode 1 & 4 & 5)

With the default setting now set and the record mode at the default setting of 12 I then just went into the fix record issues (in call settings) and ticked TuneAudio Effect and both Tune Samsung1 and 2.
Everything works perfectly for me and the best bit is the call list now produces the tel number and if in contacts the name too.

Hope this helps someone.

Unfortunately this won't work. The call won't be recorded automatically. When the call is ongoing and I press record button manually, then it records. But it doesn't do that automatically. I have root, Fix installed. When I disable root options then call is automatically recorded but without any sound.

Update: I received a call and it was automatically recorded. However outgoing calls never.

15

You said "not automatically recorded", maybe you have set the "Call Settings - Auto Record Calls - Rule to Auto Record Calls" option to not record the call. Please check it.

Also check [002] in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_r … oting.html

Just upgraded to Android 10 and BoldBeast stopped working. Nokia 7 plus (TA-1046). Any hope? Had to reset paid licence data in app also, at first I thought that was my only problem.

Android build: 00ww_4_10c_sp01
kernel: 4.4.192-perf+

Btw heard that google is putting back call recording into android, just hope they do it soon, and it arrives to my phone Look tinyurl.com/v47fsg9, other resource tinyurl.com/tak43tf. Anything relevant to BoldBeast that you can add?

Thanks in advance!

Just downloaded Boldbeast v12.9 GP on my Android 10-equipped Galaxy s9 and while it appears to record calls, there's no sound upon playback. I had the same issue with Call Recorder Pro after the Android 10 update ruined everything (I disabled CRP before installing Boldbeast).

Is there a BoldBeast fix that allows for sound?

The app looks great, if I could just get it to record my calls. Thanks.

I tried Boldbeast call recorder today on my Pixel 2 xl on Android 10 without root. I am just able to record my voice only. I checked a solution on the troubleshooting list, but none of those solutions worked for me. It seems only the mic is recording my voice and the quality is astonishing if we compare it to other app. But if there is a way to record the voice call before it goes on the ear speaker that will be great. I am sure it is possible because Cube ACR has done it recently but the quality is not very good.

So when this feature will be added to this app?

Please use settings said in the post #19 above to record calls.
In some countries recordings are crystal clear. In some countries the caller's voice is weak in recordings, because there is another limit in your ROM that is impossible to be bypassed. In this case you should root the phone to fix it, because there is no other solution in the whole market.

"Another recorder works great but Boldbeast Recorder not"? It's simply impossible. Please test again.

Pixel 3a android 10 stock rom with April update , Pro version owner of the app

Works fine but call log does not appear names correctly... instead I get ??????? or unknown (in case not a contact) and I have to write manually the name each time.

Can this be fixed? Is name logging correctly written for English Language only? Can it display the phone number in case of not a contact?

(I do not use default phone app, I use truecaller)

Thx

Please install Boldbeast Recorder from https://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder.html directly to overwrite the version in your phone, at once the telephone number and contact name problem will disappear.
